North Smithfield High School earns "Commended" status

 North Smithfield High School

North Smithfield High School has earned the distinction of being named as one of Rhode Island’s 22 “Commended” schools of 2016.  This is the highest rank attainable under the Rhode Island Department of Education’s ranking. Of the schools selected, there were only 2 high schools that made the list of top performing schools in RI, and North Smithfield is one of them!

RIDE scores schools on the following criteria, ranking them by a composite index score: student proficiency levels on Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers exams, the closing of learning gaps between the lowest-achieving students and performance standards of the PARCC exams, a student’s measured annual improvement on exams and the Class of 2015 graduation rate.

Congratulations to our students and staff for a job well done!
